Lucas Laursen
HMC President

Lucas Laursen is President of the Harvard Mountaineering Club (HMC) and a member of the Eastern Mountain Sports Base Team. He began hiking in Southern California's 3000m (10,000') mountain ranges at age eight and began climbing with an outdoor adventure group he founded and ran in high school. He has summited four of California's fourteeners and recently got a stiff taste of New England winter by leading a January Presidential Traverse with the HMC. Lucas's adventure writing has been published in Let's Go's Southwest USA 2004 Adventure Guide, and he recently relaunched and edited Harvard Mountaineering, the journal of the HMC.
