George Brewster

George Brewster grew up backpacking in New England, and completed a 5-month hike of the 2,168 mile Appalachian Trail in 2001. During his years at Harvard College he spent many weekends on New Hampshire rock and ice with fellow HMC members. After graduating in January of 2004, he took over as caretaker of the HMC Cabin on Mt. Washington and spent the winter honing his ice climbing skills in the gullies of Huntington Ravine. Recently, George enjoyed some classic alpine rock on the Grand Teton (4198m, 13,770'), and got a taste of high-altitude mountaineering on Pico de Orizaba in Mexico (5600m, 18,370'). George is certified as a Wilderness First Responder.
